ETOBE Michelle Bettina, ANOV 1, generative fashion design of a costume, 2024

As part of this exhibition, Michelle Bettina Etobe is presenting a design proposal for a collection comprising two outfits, entitled ANOV 1 and ANOV 2 (Animals Love), respectively. Michelle Bettina's aim is to explore how the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into fashion design can enrich the design process and facilitate the creation of garments that combine ergonomics, functionality, and aesthetics. In addition, through this collection, she aims to raise public awareness of the issue of poaching, inviting people to protect endangered animal species in order to preserve the balance of ecosystems. Using a formal aesthetic approach, she draws inspiration from a variety of animals to design outfits that promote well-being while conveying a symbolic value for the wearer.

Michelle Bettina's creative experience with AI has been unique. It was her first interaction with this technology, which she had never really been interested in before. Initially, she was apprehensive about this innovation, fearing that it would replace the artist's work. However, she ultimately explored and appreciated the potential offered by this technology. She says: "I was very surprised by this collaboration... During our discussions, I realized that I had nothing to be afraid of... It allowed me to visualize my ideas so that I could improve, modify, or completely rethink them during the creation of my outfits, while obtaining more precise technical and professional renderings."
