In this project, we explore a dystopian future where artificial intelligence permeates daily life, subtly controlling individual choices and daily routines. The film visually depicts the invasive presence of AI in private and public spaces, following the journey of characters P1 and P2 as they navigate a world where technology guides every action. The storyline presents an exploration of dependence on AI systems, contrasting the comfort of automated control with the characters’ gradual realization of their own disempowerment. This results in a critical tension between technological support and personal autonomy.
One primary issue addressed in the work is the erosion of human agency within an environment dominated by AI. Through P1’s experiences, who begins to question the directives of the omnipresent AI, the narrative highlights the struggle between personal freedom and the efficiency of AI-driven decisions. The project raises concerns about the potential consequences of AI when its power supersedes human intuition, isolating individuals from genuine human interaction and self-determination. The cinematography supports this concept through techniques that reinforce both the oppressive monotony of a technologically dictated life and the liberating, if uncertain, experience of nature.
Ultimately, this work aims to question the extent to which AI can and should be integrated into human life. The juxtaposition between P1’s search for autonomy and P2’s passive acceptance of AI’s control demonstrates the risks inherent in a world where humans may lose their capacity for independent thought and action. The narrative advocates for a balanced partnership with technology, highlighting that true progress lies in a harmonious coexistence rather than in absolute control or reliance.
