This project involved creating an Artificial Intelligence (AI) crafted logo and mission statement for a future-focused company. The aim was to use the advantages of AI and arrive at a verbal and visual solution that expresses the union between wo(man) and machine. There is much debate on how AI influences the design process and on the significance of the role of the designer. After much research, the approach of this brief was to challenge the boundaries between AI and the natural world. AI has proven to be a tool in the design process, however it does not formulate an idea but rather aids in initiating it.
Taeya Dukes is a South African designer, artist and photographer based in Cape Town. After completing her studies at the University of Pretoria, in BA Information Design, she is focusing on branding, UX/UI design and ideation within all disciplines of the design process. She considers herself to be a nature-inspired creative, emphasising that the natural world is the foundation to creating, designing and inventing.
