Hanni Geiger PhD, is a Postdoc Research Associate at The Käte Hamburger Kolleg / global dis:connect, Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich. From 2019 until 2021 she coordinated the DFG Priority Program “The Digital Image”, LMU Munich / Philipps University of Marburg. Prior to that she was a University Teacher (2016–2018) at the AMD Akademie Mode & Design/Department of Design at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, Munich. From 2013 until 2015 Hanni Geiger was a Research Associate at the Institute of Art History, LMU Munich and from 2011 until 2012 she collaborated on the Research Project “Exile, Migration and Transfer” at the Center for Advanced Studies, LMU Munich. She studied Fashion Design in Zagreb, Art History, Art Pedagogy and Intercultural Communication at the LMU Munich, where she received her doctorate with a thesis on Hussein Chalayan in 2014.

 

Hanni Geiger is lecturer at the Academy for Design/Chamber of Crafts and Small Industries for Munich and Upper Bavaria and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Her research activities focus on contemporary art, design and their interdependencies with exile and migration, as well as postcolonial art and design histories.
