Jana Tiborra is a researcher in art education at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, Germany. Her research focuses on transculturality, post-colonial theory and pedagogy, and contemporary photography from African countries. Jana Tiborra studied Fine Arts and English at the Academy of Fine Arts Düsseldorf and the University of Cologne. Since 2017, she has been both a member at the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, where she received a scholarship for her dissertation project, as well as a lecturer for art education at the Institute for Art Pedagogy at JLU and at Goethe-University Frankfurt. She has also taught English and Art at a school since 2021. In the EVC-project she is, together with Ansgar Schnurr and Avitha Sooful, a Critical Friend for the accompaniment and a multi-voiced commentary of the text book project.
