Dr Theophilus Kwesi Mensah is a Ghanaian artist and educator. He was born in Dunkwa-on- Offin in the Central region of Ghana. He had his teacher training education at Komenda Teacher Training College, Komenda from 1996 to 1999.


He continued his education at University of Education, Winneba (2002-2006) where he studied Painting and Sculpture, majoring in Painting in his final year. Through hard work and dedication, his department recommended him for post-graduate studies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (2007- 2010). He graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Sculpture and returned to his department; Dept. of Art Education, UEW, as a Lecturer in 2012, where he is currently teaching Painting and Drawing.


In 2014, he enrolled in a PhD programme at the Department of Music Education in the University of Education, Winneba and graduated with a PhD in Art and Culture in 2018.


Dr. Theophilus K. Mensah is an artist who has worked on quite a number of commissions notably amongst them are; The Busts of the 12 Founding Fathers of the Elmina Catholic Church, the First Black Headmaster of Adisadel College- Cape Coast, The Aboakyir Momument- Winneba, The Unity monument-Winneba, among others. As a sculptor, seeking to create beautiful things has been his passion since childhood. From childhood days to today, sculpting is the vehicle that he chooses to express his personal aesthetic of natural beauty.
