Ernst Wagner, artist, lecturer and researcher, started the EVC project at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 2015. He is currently serving EVC as member of the Expert Panel and webmaster, commissioned by the UNESCO-Chair in Arts and Culture in Education at the University of Erlangen.

 

He studied visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany as well as art history, philosophy and European ethnology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. He holds a PhD in art history. He worked at secondary schools in Germany. From 2005 to 2014 he was employed as scientific instructor at the Institute for School Quality and Research in Education (ISB) in Munich, responsible for art, drama and film education, especially for curriculum development.

 

From 2008-2024, he taught and researched at the UNESCO Chair in Digital Culture and Arts in Education at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Furthermore, he worked as a senior researcher and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and at various other universities in Germany and Austria. His research spans visual cultures studies, intercultural communication, education for sustainable development, and global citizenship education.
